How to show your love

1. SMILE

A smile is like the sun rising through the clouds.

It instills energy, happiness and life into your employees. Smiling gives the other party the message “I love you”, “I am happy to be with you”. A sullen face is the opposite.

Of course, I don’t mean grin here. There is no person who would not understand the difference between the two. The grin is contrived. Smile comes from within. It is the most direct form of expression of warm feelings. It warms the other person’s heart.

2. THANK YOU

Thank you. And at every opportunity!

These two simple words tell your employees that you care about their work and appreciate their efforts.

Also, fear not! Frequent repetition of these words will not weaken your message. On the contrary, as you thank your employees, your interaction with them becomes stronger and each thank you creates more impact than the previous one.

3. “PLEASE DO NOT NEGLECT”

Do you want to establish strong relationships based on love and respect with your employees… Then please don’t forget to say “please”.

4. TELL MY NAME TELL ME MY NAME

Addressing people by their names personalizes your relationship. It makes them no one. It makes them feel that you value them as individuals.

5. BE FAIR

All the time, about everything…

A single exception is enough to destroy your credibility.

6. WHAT IS GOING ON?

Just talking business to employees mechanizes your relationship with them. So dig a little deeper and pay attention to their private lives.

Don’t know what to talk about? Here are a few topics you can use to get started:

  • family, especially children
  • Pets
  • weekend plans
  • Favorite restaurants
  • of course football

7. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Get the opinions of your employees. Do not neglect this, especially in matters that directly concern them or in which they are experts.

Also, do it because you care about their opinion, not to make them happy. Only then can they feel valued.

8. FLEX THE CLOCKS

You can have an impact on your forecasts by stretching the working hours a bit.

Flexibility allows people the freedom to do things the way they want, while allowing them to organize their personal agendas in a way that makes them happy.

No, wouldn’t it? Then at least allow for half an hour of flexibility in commuting. Thus, prevent employees from experiencing the stress of being late for work in the morning.

9. A+ FOR REAL EFFORT

We usually notice the work well done, the goals met. What about the effort and time spent on projects that narrowly miss success?

Appreciate genuine effort to keep employees motivated and confident again, and turn failure into a learning experience.

10. REINFORCE VALUES

Appreciate behavior, not just results. Use rewards with some fun for this. Also, link these awards to company values.

Announce the winners at events ranging from short in-house meetings to extravagant ceremonies. Here are some ideas:

-Team player of the month.

-Monday’s most energetic employee.

-The most fun team leader.

-Champion of dissent.

11. USE HANDWRITING

Personalize your commendations and handwrite the commendation note.

This simple gesture will make your employees happy beyond your expectations.

12. CREATE PASSION

Create a vision that will create excitement in employees. And most importantly, don’t let anything get in the way of this vision.

In this way, give your employees the happiness and pride of fighting for a meaningful cause.

13. SURPRISE

Reward employees with small surprises. For example, on your wedding anniversary, the company car picks up the successful employee and his wife from their home and takes them to a good restaurant for dinner. Or;

– Breakfast on the Bosphorus in the morning.

– Two days Alaçatı, all inclusive.

– Paris, Amsterdam…

use your imagination a little bit for them.

14. RIGHT JOB

Make sure that employees are doing the jobs that best suit their abilities and knowledge.

Let them do excellent work, be proud of the value they create.

Only in this way can you give them the most lasting happiness.

15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY

If you do not celebrate the anniversary of an event, it means that the event has lost its excitement and even its meaning. Think about marriages…

For this reason, do not neglect to celebrate the anniversary of the day employees joined your company. Also, celebrate on the day and end the mass celebrations at the end of the month.

Are you a big company? Then delegate the party planning to the team leaders. Allow each group to honor their friends with small celebrations.

16. UNITY TOGETHER

Reinforce the unity among employees with simple measures. How Does?

For example, it may not be easy to find blood in an emergency. You can increase the number of volunteers by giving one-day unpaid leave and small rewards to your employees.

Believe me, there is nothing more joyful than being with colleagues in difficult times.

17. INSTITUTIONALIZE

Institutionalize happiness by making it a company motto. How Does?

Look what your nef is doing:

With the “Happiness Bell” and “Happiness Lottery” projects, personalized gifts and surprises are prepared for employees.

With the “Make Your Colleague Happy” project, it rewards employees who make their colleagues happy.

18. TOUCH EVERYONE

Do not lock yourself in your room as soon as the morning comes. Get among the employees. Give them at least half an hour.

Ask about status and memories.

See how things are going.

Look for solutions on site, not in meeting rooms, with hearsay information.

19. BE WITH THEM

Be there for your employees when they need it most.

I’m talking about moments like birth, marriage, funeral. In some of these, needs are maximized, in others people are caught off guard.

For this reason, the help and support given in such situations will never be forgotten.

20. YOU ARE IMPORTANT

The feeling of being an important person is the most severe hunger and thirst that gnaws at the heart.

Some employees experience the feeling of being important by breaking the rules, by acting against them, while others by creating value and getting results.

Real leaders make employees feel the importance of the work they do and urge them to follow the second path.

21. LET THEM HEAR FROM YOU

Before the meeting, take a moment or two to share the good news with employees. Let them hear the developments from your own mouth.

Make sure it will make a huge impact.

22. YOU HAVE A MESSAGE

Spread the good news as fast as possible with quick email blasts.

It doesn’t need to be very literary. Just let everyone know about the amazing success of a great employee.

23. HAPPY HOUR

Don’t underestimate the impact of happy hour. Of course, how they are organized is very important.

Share the good news, especially to the employees, during these hours.

Celebrate success and associate it with employee efforts. Make them feel valued and important to the company.

Also, please do not go cheap on treats.

24. WHAT’S NEXT?

Build career paths for employees. Clarify your commitments. They reduce the uncertainty of the future.

Remember that a healthy career planning is a prerequisite for employee happiness.

25. PERMISSION TIME

Celebrate your employees’ efforts with surprise paid leaves.

Note: While a white-collar worker in Germany works an average of 1388 hours a year, 2077 hours in Greece and 1838 hours in Turkey. Source: OECD

This means that working long hours does not mean producing more.

26. SUPPORT

Highly qualified employees value personal development and learning opportunities above all else.

Create opportunities for them to learn something new.

-Send to conferences,

-Enroll in online courses,

– Provide financial support to MBA trainings,

-Make it easy during working hours

27. DISTRIBUTE TIME

Who doesn’t want to spend more time on their private life?

Reward employees with “time” and give them time for their personal/private work.

For this, allocate 10 hours to department managers, which they can distribute to their employees in one-hour slices. Repeat this allocation every week.

28. GREAT APPRAISAL

Ask coworkers to write something for an employee whose behavior sets an example.

Read these reviews at the group meeting.

29. SOCIAL MEDIA

Organize events that employees can share on social media. Sample:

-Waffle clock.

-Fruit feast.

-Make a caricature of your friend, hang it on the board.

-Company choir.

-Song Contest.

30. PASTA BAKLAVA

You don’t have to organize a happy hour to recognize success.

Celebrate hard work and results with sweet getaways.

A cake you will cut or the baklavas to be distributed by giving the job 10 minutes will be enough for this.

31. SUBSCRIBE

Do you have a newsletter to inform your employees about current developments, news or upcoming events about the company?

Dedicate a page of this to commend the staff.

Also give this section a creative name. Example: “Success Showcase”.

32. OR BILLBOARDS…

Announce the celebrations by using billboards near your company or near where your employees eat heavily.

Employees will be happy to see their pictures rotate on their way to work or during a meal in the morning.

How Does? You can get help from Clear Channel.

33. CAR MAINTENANCE

Step outside of traditional awards.

Have their vehicles professionally polished and painted while employees are at work. Do not underestimate the joy of returning home in the evening in a sparkling car.

34. SUBSCRIBE

Subscribe to numerous magazines, from business to personal care to entertainment.

But before initiating subscriptions, do a small survey of which magazines are requested and be sure to consider employee feedback.

35. PUSH THE LIMITS

Provide your employees with the opportunity to lead a project or take on new challenges.

This will develop them, enable them to learn new things and increase their self-confidence.

36. CREATE ENJOYMENT

Consider the first day a factory opens after a holiday. I don’t think there would be a more difficult and boring day for the blue collar.

How about turning this negativity into enthusiasm?

For example, VİKO welcomes its blue-collar employees on the red carpet to the accompaniment of classical music after the holidays. He gives them a terrific brunch.

Result: Machines work 1 hour late that day. But people start with great enthusiasm.

37. MILESTONES

Celebrate Individual Milestones!

Another indicator of the value you place on your employees is remembering important events for them.

Birthdays, wedding anniversaries, new babies, new homes, new cars, anniversaries, graduations…

And again surprise gifts. Example, car seat for baby instead of gold. The message given: The baby’s health is important to us.

38. PRIVILEGED PARKING

Does it look simple? Definitely not.

Especially if your company is in Istanbul…

Let your successful employees experience the happiness of starting work by parking at a privileged spot, and you will definitely get rewards.

39. EATING TOGETHER

Enter the meals with the employees. Don’t have a separate table. Line up like everyone else, get your food, and take a seat.

Listen to your employees during meals. Take the pulse of your company. Have all administrators do this.

40. WORKING TOGETHER

If the company is working on the weekend, be there too. Even if you do not do any business, they will be happy to see you among them.

It is even possible to multiply this happiness by making small surprises such as pies and desserts.

41. MONEY REWARDS

Stay away! Stay away! Stay away!

Money devalues it. It destroys the meaning in the work. If you insert cash into the system, all of the above will be meaningless.

People begin to measure all given gifts with money. 200 TL meal, 70 TL cake etc. etc.
